1. Controller
The controller responsible for personal data processed through globallearncenter.com ("Global Learn Center", "we", "us") is Thomas William Harrison (Global Learn Center), Wellington Street, Leeds LS1 4LT, United Kingdom. Contact details are listed in our Imprint. For any question about this policy or your data, write to info@globallearncenter.com. If the publisher is established outside the European Union or the United Kingdom and is required to appoint a representative under Article 27 of the GDPR or the UK GDPR, the representative's details will be published in the Imprint.
2. Personal data we process
- Technical access data. Each time a page is requested, the web server records technical information: your IP address, the date and time, the address of the page requested, the page you came from, the amount of data transferred, and your browser and operating system as reported by your browser.
- Your cookie choices. When you accept or reject optional cookies, we store that choice in a cookie on your device.
- Analytics and advertising data. Only if you agree, cookies and similar identifiers from Google may be used to measure visits and the performance of adverts for this website (see section 5).
- Correspondence. If you e-mail us, we process your e-mail address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message.
We do not offer user accounts, comment sections, newsletters or payments, and we do not ask for identity documents, financial details, private keys or recovery phrases. Please do not send us such information.
3. Purposes and legal bases
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Delivering pages, keeping the website stable and secure, detecting and blocking attacks | Technical access data | Legitimate interests in operating a secure website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / UK GDPR |
| Recording your cookie choices so we can respect them | Consent cookie | Compliance with legal obligations on consent, Art. 6(1)(c), and legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Statistics about visits and measuring the performance of adverts for this website | Cookie identifiers, page views, device and approximate location data derived by Google | Your consent, Art. 6(1)(a); you can withdraw it at any time |
| Replying to questions, correction reports and privacy requests | E-mail address, name, message content | Legitimate interests in answering enquiries, Art. 6(1)(f); where you exercise your rights, legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c) |
4. Hosting and security
The website runs on a server provided by a hosting company that processes technical access data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Pages are delivered over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to the server and to the website's administration is restricted, and automated tools block IP addresses that repeatedly try to guess passwords or probe for weaknesses; such blocks are lifted automatically after a limited period.
5. Cookies
We use one strictly necessary cookie to remember your cookie choices. Optional analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie panel. Before you decide, any Google tags present on the site run in a restricted mode (Google Consent Mode) that does not store advertising or analytics cookies. You can change your decision at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie with its purpose and duration.
6. Recipients
- Our hosting provider, as a processor acting on our instructions.
- Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, only if you consent to analytics or advertising cookies.
- Our e-mail service provider, if you write to us.
- Courts, police or other public authorities, where we are legally obliged to disclose data.
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it with crypto companies, data brokers or other advertisers.
7. Transfers outside the EEA and the UK
If you consent to Google cookies, data may be processed in the United States. Such transfers are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to it, and, where these do not apply, standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or the UK authorities.
8. How long we keep data
- Server log files: up to 30 days, unless a specific security incident requires us to keep particular entries longer for investigation.
- Consent cookie: 6 months; after that we ask for your choice again.
- Analytics and advertising cookies: for the periods listed in the Cookie Policy, unless you delete them earlier.
- E-mails: until your enquiry has been dealt with, and then for no more than 12 months, unless we must keep them longer to meet legal obligations or to establish or defend legal claims.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- obtain confirmation of whether we process your data and a copy of it (Art. 15);
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16);
- have your data erased where there is no longer a reason to keep it (Art. 17);
- have processing restricted in certain cases (Art. 18);
- receive data you provided in a portable format, where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out automatically (Art. 20);
- object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21);
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, write to info@globallearncenter.com. We may ask for information needed to confirm your identity. We reply without undue delay and in any case within one month, which can be extended in complex cases as the law allows; we will tell you if that happens.
10. Complaints
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — in particular in the EU member state where you live or work or where you believe an infringement took place. In the United Kingdom, the supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, but you are not required to contact us before complaining.
11. Children
This website is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you. If you consent to advertising cookies, Google may use data for ad measurement under its own policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our website, our service providers or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
