Purpose
Every page has one job: to help a reader understand how blockchain technology is used in the world and how it is regulated. Anything that would steer a reader towards a market decision does not belong on this site.
Sources we use
- Legislation and official texts — for example EUR-Lex for EU law, legislation.gov.uk for UK law, and official statute databases elsewhere.
- Supervisors and public authorities — such as ESMA, the EBA, the FCA, the SEC, the CFTC, FinCEN, FINMA, MAS, Japan's FSA and VARA.
- International bodies — the FATF, the Basel Committee and the BIS, the FSB, IOSCO, the OECD, the World Bank and UN agencies.
- Government and EU programme pages — such as the European Commission's pages on the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI).
- Peer-reviewed research and standards — papers with a DOI, W3C recommendations and NIST publications.
We do not use price data, exchange blogs, token marketing material or paid "research". Press reports are used only to locate an official source, never as the only evidence for a fact.
How we describe pilots
A pilot is not a success story until it is documented as one. We describe projects cautiously: what was announced, what was tested and — where public — what happened next. When a project was stopped, we say so. When we cannot confirm a detail, we leave it out.
Regulation briefs
- Each brief names the supervisor, the main law and what it covers, and links to official sources.
- We distinguish rules that apply now from proposals, consultations and draft bills.
- Briefs are summaries for education. They are not legal advice and cannot replace the legal text or a qualified lawyer.
Review cycle
Every explainer and brief is reviewed at least every six months, and sooner when we learn that a law, a supervisor's guidance or a documented pilot has changed. The review date is shown on each page. Pages are written and checked by the Global Learn Center editors.
Corrections
If you find a mistake or an outdated rule, write to info@globallearncenter.com with the page address and, if possible, the official source. We check every report. Substantive corrections are made on the page and reflected in its review date.
Images
Maps, icons and diagrams on this site are drawn by us in code to explain ideas. Some decorative illustrations are created with the help of AI image tools and reviewed by a person before publication; they never depict real people, logos or market data.
Independence
We accept no payment, gifts or sponsorship from crypto companies, technology vendors or the organisations we write about. Advertising of the site itself does not influence content.
