Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Each page has a single main heading and a logical order of section headings, so screen-reader users can navigate by heading.
- Text and interface colours are chosen for sufficient contrast, and colour is never the only way information is shown.
- The world map has a text alternative: every region on it is also listed as a link and compared in a table.
- Icons are decorative and hidden from assistive technology; their meaning is always given in text.
- The site can be used with a keyboard alone, offers a "skip to content" link and shows a visible focus outline.
- Pages adapt to narrow screens and to browser zoom of up to 200%, and wide tables scroll within their own area.
- There is no autoplaying audio or video and no flashing content.
Known limitations
Some external sources we link to, such as legal texts in PDF format, may not be fully accessible. We cannot change them, but we can try to help you find an accessible version.
Feedback
